President Jokowi Opens National Working Meeting

JAKARTA, Sept 14 (Antara) - President Joko Widodo opened the National Working Meeting on the 2017 Government Financial Report at the State Palace here on Thursday. The president arrived at the Palace at 9.05 am to open the meeting which was to be attended by numerous regional heads, leaders of government institutions, and cabinet ministers. Present at the meeting were Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati, Health Minister Nila Moeloek, Defense Minister Ryamizard Ryacudu, Research and Higher Education Minister M Nasir, Deputy Finance Minister Mardiasmo, Trade Minister Enggartiasto Lukita, and Minister for Development Planning/Head of National Development Planning Agency Bambang Brodjonegoro. Earlier, the National Working Meeting Chairman Firmansyah Nazarudin expressed his hope that the meeting could bring a positive result for the welfare of the people of Indonesia. "Technical matters will be discussed in this meeting that we hope will produce something for the welfare of all people of Indonesia, because we want accountability and transparency of every state financial management," Firmansyah remarked. He explained that the agenda of the meeting will highlight the issues related to education, health, and social protection for the welfare of the people of Indonesia. "We encourage commitment to be transparent in the expenditure of state budget, so that people's welfare can be realized," he said.
