FEDERAL TERRITORIES MINISTRY ENCOURAGES SETTING UP OF FOOD KIOSKS
KUALA LUMPUR Feb 18 (Bernama) -- The private sector is encouraged to set up food courts with beautiful and modern kiosks, Federal Territories Minister Zulhasnan Rafique said Wednesday.
"The ministry always welcomes efforts by the private sector to introduce the
concept of food kiosks like those found in developed countries," he said after a
briefing on the proposed setting up of food kiosks by MD Adam Resources Sdn Bhd
at his office here.
He said food centres based on such a concept could contribute to management
of a modern city in line with the objective of making Kuala Lumpur a developed
city by 2020.
"What is important is that cleanliness should be given priority at all
times," he added.
Meanwhile, MD Adam Resources Sdn Bhd chairman Muhammad Adam said the
company would submit its proposal to the Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) soon.
"MD Adam Resources will bear all costs to set up the food kiosks and we
only need approval and permission from DBKL to set up the kiosks at locations
which have been identified in Kuala Lumpur," he added.
