EAGLE FESTIVAL TO BE HELD FROM SEPTEMBER 30 TO OCTOBER 01

Bayan-Ulgii /MONTSAME/ The 18th Eagle Festival will be held from September 30 to October 1 in Bugat soum of Bayan-Ulgii aimag. Some 100 eagle trainers from 10 soums of the aimag are expected to participate in the annual traditional festival, maintaining heritage and showing off trainer’s and bird’s skills, said D.Aibek, chairman of the Environment and Tourism Department of Bayan-Ulgii aimag. During the Eagle festival-2017, various contests including best dressed eagle trainer with decorated horse, calling eagle from distance, catching stuffed dead animal, live prey hunt and traditional game of Kazakh people, Kokpar- goatskin tug of war on horseback.
