3rd Princess Maha Chakri Award presented to awardees

BANGKOK, Oct 13 (TNA) -- Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand Wednesday presented the 3rd Princess Maha Chakri Award to outstanding teachers and educators from the 11 Southeast Asian nations. The Princess Maha Chakri Award was established in celebration of the auspicious 60th birthday of the Princess Sirindhorn in 2015 to honor individuals in the field of education and social development every two years. This year’s awardees are Lim Soh Ngo from Negara Brunei Darussalam, Dy Sophorn from Cambodia, Encon Rahman from Indonesia, Kounvilay Khenkitisack from Laos, Hajah Saripah Binti Embong from Malaysia, U Than Tun from Myanmar, Dr Jesus C. Incilada from the Philippines, Sarabjeet Kaur Hardip Singh from Singapore, Leopoldina Joana Guterres from Timor-Leste, Phan Thi Nu from Vietnam and Jirat Jamsawang from Thailand. According to the Princess Maha Chakri Award Foundation, they are honored for their outstanding roles in life-changing learning and educational development.” Each received a medal, a certificate of honour, and a US$10,000 cash prize from the Princess in the award-presentation ceremony at Centara Grand Hotel in Bangkok.
