Flower road for HM late King Bhumibol

BANGKOK, Oct 16 (TNA) -- Miracle of Life Foundation and people in Pak Khlong Talad area will make a road of flowers in remembrance of His Majesty late King Bhumibol on Oct 21-27. Manas Nonuch, planning director of the foundation, said flowers from local and international sources including those from royal development projects would be used to decorate the 400-meter-long road of flowers on Chakphet Road from the King Rama I monument to Phra Ratchawang police station. About 4,000 professional flower arrangers and volunteers will join the project featuring six tunnels of flowers designed by Niralai by Rain Forest. The first section of the road of flowers will be 89 meters long to represent the age of the late king. The second section will refer to the great generosity of the late king that always boosts the morale of Thai people. The third section will resemble mountain ranges in the North to relate to the late king’s royal development projects turning opium plantations into fields of temperate flowers and orchards for the good living conditions of hill tribe people. The fourth section will represent Thai people’s gratitude towards the great contribution of the late king. The fifth section will feature marigold flowers and represent the prosperity of Thailand during the reign of the late king and the sixth section will represent a gate of heaven. (TNA)
