Long queue before checkpoints open at Sanam Luang

BANGKOK, Oct 24 (TNA) – Many people started queuing at screening points to enter Sanam Luang area for the Royal Cremation Ceremony on Oct 26, several hours before the opening of checkpoints at 5 am tomorrow. One of nine checkpoints near the Royal Rattanakosin Hotel is the most crowded. People line up, sitting and waiting to enter Sanam Luang area, where they can reserve vantage spots to witness the royal cremation procession of the late King and pay respects to him for the last time. The space is available for 70,000 people. Volunteers give drinking water and herbal inhalants for waiting people and mobile medical units are on standby. Meanwhile, public health officials warned people, who are camping out in the rain and heat from sunlight to beware of illness such as fever, food poisoning, and diarrhea. They are advised to often drink water and seek medical treatment at health service units if they fall sick. (TNA)
