POLICE FOIL METHANE SMUGGLING

Madiun, Feb 20 (ANTARA) - Madiun police foiled the smuggling of 360 liters of kerosene by Asmugi (29) and Bambang (25), of Sukomoro village, Sukomoro subdistrict, Ponorogo regency.
The subsidized kerosene stored in 12 jerrycans, was to be smuggled to Wonogiri, Central Java.
Madiun chief police detective Commissioner Rony Kimbal said Friday the police became rather suspicious about a car passing the Ponorogo-Wonogiri highway in front of the Badegan police station in Ponorogo.
"We have stopped the Suzuki Carry pickup with license plate T 8087 A, and after a search the car carried subsidized methane," he said.
The two passengers of the car cannot produce legal papers of dispatch to the police, and the cargo, the car and the two passengers were brought to the police station for further investigation.
