BACA president honoured

Torino, Oct. 26 (BNA): Bahrain Authority of Culture and Antiquities (BACA) President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa has been conferred an honorary academic title from Albertina Arts Academy in Torino, Italy.
Shaikha Mai was also conferred the Golden Medal from Santo Porto Academy and Venaria Reale Foundation, these honours were granted only to leading cultural and artistic personalities in recognition of their cultural and artistic role in humanity's progress.
During the honouring ceremony, BACA President Shaikha Mai bint Mohammed Al Khalifa, gave a speech in which she said "Italy is teeming with its artistic foundations and institutes in view of its ancient history in the arts and culture. It is pretty much Bahrain’s rich cultural heritage meets with the cultural heritage of an Italian city such as Torino. She expressed her appreciation of this gesture as a new beginning to complete the partnership launched years ago, especially via the presence of the best Italian stage production on Bahrain National Theatre.
Shaikha Mai added that "I dedicate these honours all those working in the Kingdom of Bahrain’s cultural field who believe that culture characterizes peoples’ unique identity and paints their humane excellence."
The attendees then watched documentary film about Bahrain Fort site that reflects Bahrain's historic and civilizational dimensions.
