Cremation flower ashes floated in sea, rivers
PRACHUAP KHIRI KHAN, Oct 27 (TNA) – Local authorities across the country floated ashes of sandalwood cremation flowers, offered by people at royal crematorium replicas and designated arches on the Royal Cremation Day of HM late King Bhumibol Adulyadej.
In Prachuap Khiri Khan, a merit-making ceremony had been conducted at the royally-sponsored Klongwan Temple in the provincial seat on Friday before sandalwood flower ashes were carried by 12 boats from Hua Hin ferry pier for floating onto the sea.
In other inland provinces, the ashes of sandalwood flowers were moved in ceremonial processions and floated on major local rivers such as the Chao Phraya River, the Mekong River.
About 19 million people nationwide offered cremation flowers for the late King on Thursday, said the Interior Ministry. (TNA)
