Shura Council backs royal directives

Manama, Oct.30 (BNA): The Shura Council paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for taking a firm stand for the sake of Bahrain’s security, stability and social unity, the key pillars of national development and progress. In a statement issued today, it lauded HM the King’s firm stance as he chaired the weekly Cabinet meeting, hailing the royal directives which reflect keenness on the interest of the nation and citizens. It backed the royal directives to take firm measures to deter all those who dare to target national security and stability, particularly foreign-backed terrorism. “The people of Bahrain proved under many circumstances their unwavering support to the wise leadership in all measures to protect the homeland and safeguard national achievements”, the statement said. The Shura Council vowed to spare no efforts to consolidate national achievements, expressing resolve to continue constructive coordination and partnership with the Council of Representatives and distinguished legislative-executive cooperation towards consolidating the democratic process. It reiterated unwavering support to the royal directives not to participate in any Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) summit and meeting attended by Qatar, unless it rectifies its path, comes back to its senses and responds to the demands of the countries which suffered the most from the Qatari policies. The Shura Council described the stance as a bold step and strong signal to the State of Qatar to return to the correct path and respect the GCC charters and conventions.
