Exhibitions on Royal Cremation of late Thai King opened for public visits
BANGKOK, November 2 (TNA) - Exhibitions related to last week's Royal Cremation Ceremony of late His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej have been opened for public visits until the end of this month.
Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn opened the exhibitions at the compound of the Royal Crematorium, which was finely built at Sanam Luang ceremonial ground near the Grand Palace in Bangkok, on Thursday morning when Thai Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-ocha, his Cabinet members, relevant authorities and international diplomats were also present.
Throngs of people have then visited the exhibitions organized around the Royal Crematorium and its surrounding structures, including decorations and modeled royal projects around the Royal Crematorium and the Songtham Pavilion, where there are murals depicting royal autobiography, royal activities and royal projects initiated and developed by the late and beloved Thai monarch during his reign over the past 70 years.
The general public, including the elderly, persons with disabilities (PWDs) and priests, as well as foreign tourists are allowed to visit the exhibitions during November 2-30, 14 hours daily, from 7am to 10 pm. with each 45-minute round set to welcome about 4,000 people or about 56.000 people a day.
The tactile technology and the audio narration system have also been prepared for people with visually impared and hearing impaired at the Songtham Pavilion.
However, visitors are now not allowed to enter to the main Royal Crematorium structure, after authorities found inappropriate behaviors of some visitors at a trial tour organized on November 1.
There are five screening points before people are allowed to enter the Royal Crematorium compound, one of them will be specially set at Thammasat University, Tha Pra Chan Campus, for priests and foreign tourists.
Besides, a number of tents have been erected around Sanam Luang ceremonial ground for public rest, while international tourists will be allowed to access to the space in front of the Royal Crematorium and in the middle of Sanam Luang ceremonial ground to take photos and to pass through the nearby Grand Palace for their next visit.
People who want to visit the Royal Crematorium compound are asked to be dressed in polite attire, namely long-sleeved shirts, long pants, skirts below the knee length and coarse shoes or brogue shoes. (TNA)
