'STUDY IN AUSTRALIA 2009' EXPO BEING HELD IN INDONESIA

Jakarta, Feb. 22 (ANTARA) - The Australian Embassy in Jakarta is holding the 8th Study in Australia education exhibition in Indonesia from 21 to 28 February 2009.

"Education is an important element of the people-to-people relationship between our two countries," said Australia's Charge d'Affaires in Indonesia Paul Robilliard in a statement of the Australian embassy here on Sunday.
"Australia remains the preferred destination for Indonesians studying abroad due to a number of factors, including its internationally recognized qualifications, its proximity to Indonesia, its multicultural environment and the quality of our lifestyle," said Robilliard.
Robilliard said the outstanding achievements of Indonesian alumni, including those who are finalists at this year's Australian Alumni Awards Dinner, is proof of the strong impact an Australian education can have on future careers.
The Study in Australia exhibition is the only Australian education exhibition organized by the Australian Government in Indonesia.
This year there are 41 Australian education institutions participating in the Study in Australia education exhibition across four cities (Jakarta, Bandung, Medan & Surabaya) - the largest turn out for this event in the past five years.
The participants come from schools, vocational education institutes, universities and language institutions, providing visitors with a complete picture of the range of Australia's education opportunities.
Prospective students will be able to research which institution is most suited to their interests and future career path. Senior representatives from Australian schools and universities will be on hand to discuss options for living and studying in Australia.
Visitors to the exhibition will also be able to access information about scholarships, Australian student visas and English language testing.
