"Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" inaugurated

BANGKOK, November 15 (TNA) - The government, in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, is scheduled to inaugurate the "Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" campaign in Bangkok on Wednesday. Relevant officials, on Wednesday morning, speedily finalized their tasks to be timely for the inaugural event of the "Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" in the evening. The preparation tasks included the decoration of a two-kilometer grand procession, from Soi Chulalongkorn University 5 in the capital's Pathumwan area to nearby Ratchaprasong area, during 5pm-9pm when roads in the areas were set to be temporarily closed. The procession comprises the first troupe of the symbol of the "Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" showing the love and conciliation among Thais, the second troupe of unique cultures of five Thai regions, the third troupe of wellknown Thai cuisine, the fourth troupe of internationally-outstanding Thai festivals, the fifth troupe of tourism sports to be hosted by Thailand in 2018, namely the Air Race 1 Thailand and the World Wai Kru Muay Thai Ceremony, and the sixth troupe of a show of good host by all Thais to welcome global visitors. The November 15 inaugural event was set shortly after the government's committee on national tourism policy resolved that the "Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" campaign be launched from November 1, 2017 to January 1, 2019 to promote the domestic tourism through unique Thai cultures and charming tourism activities. Besides, the "Amazing Thailand Tourism Year 2018" is aimed at developing the country's tourist attractions to be listed on the world's top board for their charming Thainess, in parallel with sustaining more income distribution to local communities nationwide.
