SBY-JK AGREE TO MANAGE POLITICAL DYNAMICS IN PARTIES

Cikeas, Feb 22 (ANTARA) - Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Jusuf Kalla (JK) agreed here on Sunday to manage internal political dynamics in their respective parties to avoid future misunderstanding.

Democrat Party official Andi Mallarangeng at a press conference at the private residence of SBY in Cikeas, Bogor, said that Yudhoyono and Kalla respectively in their capacity as advisory council chairman of the Democrat Party and the general chairman of Golkar Party agreed to continue making steps to maintain the good relationship between the two political parties.
"Just now Pak (Mr) SBY and Pak Jusuf Kalla said that Golkar and Democrat need to continue maintaining their good relationship," he said after the meeting between the two leaders.
Andi said in the meeting Jusuf Kalla also explained the current internal dynamics in his party.
"Pak Yudhoyono and Pak Kalla agreed to reduce misunderstanding that could occur in the political dynamics of the two parties," he said.
He said good communication through meetings or talks by phone was part of efforts to maintain the relations between the two parties.
He said the two also agreed their commitment to the state administration should remain as mandated by the people until the end of their five-year term.
This will also show that this government will be the first in history to be able to finish its term well after the New Order era, he said.
Asked if the meeting was held in connection with the recent internal discourse in the Golkar Party Andi said the two could meet at anytime.
In his capacity as president and vice president they had also discussed latest developments in the process of reconstruction and reconciliation in Aceh, said Andi, who is also a presidential spokesman.
President Yudhoyono on the occasion emphasized the importance of maintaining the two processes well.
Vice Presient Kalla meanwhile reported his recent overseas visit and told about the good appreciation of several countries of Indonesia's policy in dealing with current global crisis.
Kalla met with Yudhoyono for about 45 minutes at the president's private home in Cikeas, Bogor.
