Nesma Airlines Starts Kuala Lumpur-Jeddah Service

PUTRAJAYA, Nov 24 (Bernama) -- Nesma Airlines, a community airline owned by Nesma Holdings from Saudi Arabia, began its inaugural flight from Kuala Lumpur to Jeddah Thursday. The special charter flight carrying 403 pilgrims to perform their Umrah, departed from the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) to Jeddah at 5pm. The flight involving pilgrims from Malaysia and Indonesia was handled by AlFajr Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd (AlFajr Travel), a company that was appointed as the General Service Agent (GSA) by Nesma Airlines for its service since last February. AlFajr Travel managing director Osman Ahmad said the special flight would be conducted for six months with four flights per week, using Boeing 777-200 aircraft which could accommodate 403 passengers. Osman said as the Nesma Airlines’ GSA, AlFajr Travel was offering the most economical prizes for pilgrims, from RM2,750 for normal season and RM3,250 for school holiday season and the month of Ramadan. -- BERNAMA
