OIC Chief Condemns Israeli TV`s defamation of Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ)

Jeddah, February 23, SPA -- The Secretary General of the Organization
of Islamic Conference (OIC) Prof. Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu has strongly
condemned Israeli 10th-TV-channel for broadcasting a defamatory
program of Prophet Isa (Jesus Christ) and his Mother Maryam (Mary)
(peace be upon them).

In a statement issued here today, the Secretary General reaffirmed
the consistent position of the Organization of Islamic Conference
against disrespect and defamation of the Prophets of the Divine
faiths and the insult of religious symbols.

The Secretary-General expressed the OIC’s solidarity with
Christians, including those in Palestine, denouncing the Israeli TV
station’s defamation of Prophet Jesus Christ (peace be upon him) and
urged all peoples to take a common position that would counter
defamation of religions and beliefs and insulting symbols that are
sacred to different religious faiths.
