GCC Chief condemns blast in Cairo`s downtown

Riyadh, February 23, SPA -- Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation
Council Abdulrahman Al-Atiyyah has condemned the attack which
targeted a tourism gathering at Al-Hussein area in Cairo downtown
yesterday, leading to the death and injury of a number of persons.

Describing the incident as a terror act, Al-Atiyyah voiced GCC's
support to Egypt in confronting this criminal act.

Al-Atiyyah reiterated GCC'S condemnation of all forms of terrorism,
and said regional ad international efforts should be coordinated in
combating this dangerous phenomenon.
