LION AIR CONDUCTS HARD LANDING AT BATAM'S HANG NADIM
Jakarta, Feb 23 (ANTARA) - An Lion Air MD on the Medan-Surabaya route had to make an emergency landing at Batam's Hang Nadim airport Monday afternoon.
For the time being, all the 156 passegers were safe, although two of them with a weak heart and hypertension had to be rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The Lion Air MD with flight registration number JT 972, took off from Medan at 4.30 p.m, but when about on a transit at Hang Nadim, the its landing gears failed to appear.
The pilot when still in the air reduced the aircraft's fuel before decided to conduct a hard landing at 5.30 p.m and came to a halt with its nose brushing the ground.
