Shinsegae to open its 20th outlet store in China

SEOUL, Feb. 24 (Yonhap) -- South Korean retailer Shinsegae Co. said Tuesday it plans to open its 20th discount store this week in China, and aims to increase the number to 30 by the end of this year.

Shinsegae launched its first E-Mart discount outlet in China 12 years ago, and
logged 350 billion won (US$232 million) in sales last year. For the year, the
company expects its outlet stores to post 570 billion won in sales.
By 2013, Shinsegae, which operates the country's largest retail store chain,
plans to expand its chain to 88, and post 2.6 trillion won in sales.
