WB grants Yemen $35 mln to tackle heavy-rain effects

SANA'A, Feb. 24 (Saba) - World Bank (WB) has announced a grant of $ 35 million to
assist the government's efforts to tackle consequences of the Heavy-rains hit in
Hadramout and Mahrah governorate last year.

Undersecretary of Planning and International Cooperation Ministry for Project
Programming Sector Abdullah al-Shater said that grant-relevant agreement would be
signed next Wednesday by the Planning Ministry and WB.

The grant will be dedicated for carrying out two projects in agricultural and road
sectors in the two governorates, al-Shater said, adding that the government will
contribute to $ 5 million in such projects.
