50% service charges exemption for disabled: committee

Manama, Dec. 24 (BNA): Parliament's Services Committee said it has approved a 50 percent exemption of government service charges for disabled persons. The committee held its meeting today chaired by MP Abbas Essa Al Madi and attended by committee members. The committee endorsed the amended Law Bill for Amendment of Clause 7 of Law 74/2006 regarding Care, Rehabilitation and Employment for the Disabled. The bill waives the disabled from 50% of charges payable in consideration of government services, according to the Head of the Services Committee. Before its amendment, Clause 7 of Law 74/2006 stipulated a monthly stipend which was paid to the disabled under terms and conditions specifiable by the minister's resolution after obtaining the High Committee's approval, he explained.
