S. Korea, Iraq to sign construction cooperation deal
SEOUL, Feb. 25 (Yonhap) -- A South Korean construction association said Wednesday
it will sign a preliminary agreement with the Iraqi government to cooperate in
rebuilding the war-torn country.
Under the deal, South Korean construction companies will be able to participate
in the urban development and rehabilitation of the Middle Eastern country,
according to the Korean Federation of Construction Industry Societies.
The federation also said it plans to train Iraqi construction technicians.
The deal will be signed at a meeting to be held later in the day, which local
business leaders and visiting Iraqi government officials accompanying President
Jalai Talabani will attend.
The Iraqi president started his four-day state visit to Seoul on Monday.
