BTEA chief participates in GOPIO convention

Manama, Jan. 8 (BNA): The Chief Executive Officer of Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa, took part in the Global Organization of People of Indian Origin (GOPIO) convention held for the first time in the Middle East between. The GOPIO convention is a strategic networking platform for Indian businessmen globally. Several topics were discussed during the forum, some of which included ‘India 2030: An Economic Powerhouse’, ‘Opportunities for Business and Investment in India’, ‘India: The Healthcare Destination’ – ‘India Healthcare Challenges & Opportunities’, ‘Innovation, Entrepreneurship & Start-Up India’, ‘Empowering Women Globally’, ‘Rehabilitation of Returning NRIs’. "We are proud to participate in the first GOPIO conference which is being held in the Middle East for the first time and which will serve to promote the Kingdom of Bahrain in India, further strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries. Through our representative office in India, we have been able to successfully promote Bahrain as well as collaborate with Indian travel agencies to create inbound packages into the Kingdom," said the CEO of BTEA, Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa. "We also look forward to attracting further investments and increasing the influx of tourism which will contribute to the growth and development of this sector as well as to the national economy," he added. Shaikh Khaled bin Humood Al Khalifa’s participation and support comes in line with the BTEA’s overall strategy that aims to develop and strengthen the tourism sector under the slogan of ‘Ours. Yours.’, and contribute towards the Kingdoms economy and the 2030 Economic Vision. More than 400 delegates from 40 countries are expected to attend the 4-day convention on January 6-9. This is a great opportunity for delegates to visit the unique attractions that make Bahrain the leading destination within the MICE and tourism sector, on an international level.
