Young Novelists Award significance highlighted

Manama, Jan. 21 (BNA): His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports, President of Bahrain Athletics Association and Honorary President of the Bahrain Sports Federation for the Disabled, has affirmed that his patronage of the Arabian Gulf Young Novelists Award2018 comes to confirm the capability of youth creativity to accomplish the best innovation and creativity, wishing them success. The award was originally launched locally five years ago under His Highness’s patronage, and its second edition will be launched for the entire Arabian Gulf region in March. The contest involves the seemingly impossible challenge for a competing young novelist to write a complete storybook within 24 hours. "Bahrain has a long history and this pushes us to recourse to our Arab and Islamic values to launch cultural initiatives to boost youth contribution in the art of literary creativity that reflect the communities advancement in the countries of the region which contributed tremendously to enrichment of international literature although critics say it is still in need of more attention and appreciation in view of the remarkable preoccupation of youth with the this form of literature," His Highness said. HH Shaikh Khalid pointed out that culture is the engine that pushes peoples and communities towards nonstop progress and helps build the future, and cultural progress means to develop the community to a better morrow.
