SCW President opens Family Courts Complex

Manama, Jan. 2 (BNA): President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, today opened the Family Courts Complex at the Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa Center in Al-Haniniyah, which is a new achievement aims to strengthen family stability.  The SCW President extended utmost appreciation of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa' support for the SCW efforts aimed at uplifting Bahraini women’s status and empowering them to contribute to the national development march under the royal reforms. She also welcomed the royal support for the SCW efforts to finalize the Bahraini women legislative system.  The SCW President noted the issuance of many qualitative laws, most notably the family law, stressing the development of legislation, laws and procedures concerning women and the family is a continuous work that parallel with the development of the society. HRH Princess Sabeeka stressed commendation of the SCW partners of legal, judicial sides, including the Supreme Judicial Council and Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, as well as NGOs supportive to women.  HRH Princess Sabeeka toured the new courts complex that aims at promoting family stability. She wished the family court to prove its presence as a national entity capable of protecting the Bahraini family rights and reinforcing social stability, pointing out the SCW resolve to support all initiatives aim to maintain the Bahraini women’s high status.  President of Court of Cassation, SJC Vice-President Abdullah bin Hassan Al Buainain said the establishment of the family court is a prominent event that reflects the royal interest in preserving the Bahraini family and guaranteeing the rights of all sects of society, who represent the cornerstone of the sustainable development process.  Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, said the ministry is keen to continue close cooperation with the Supreme Judicial Council to develop initiatives for the constant development of the justice system to enhance the role of family consultations to settle family disputes.  SCW Secretary-General Hala Al Nsari praised the cooperation with the Justice Ministry that complements the SCW efforts to strengthen the family stability within the national plan for the development of Bahraini women.
