HM King's directives hailed by Representatives Council

Manama, Jan. 30 (BNA): The Council of Representatives has extended profound thanks and gratitude to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the mastermind of the Reform Project and the democratic process in the kingdom, for his sound directives to ensure that there will be no increase in the fees of the private schools. The council also hailed the royal directives to cancel the Education Ministry’s edict, to take immediate procedures to halt any private school fee hike, and to make sure that the remuneration in high performing schools are defrayed from other resources and are not borne by parents of students in the form of any increase on school fees. The Representatives Council lauded HM the King’s constant keenness on taking the citizens’ conditions into account and on sparing them financial burdens in light of the extraordinary economic challenges, noting that the sound directives are in line with HM King Hamad’s far-sighted vision of supporting the educational process through initiatives to develop it by resources from the concerned sides, without charging the parents extra fees. The council affirmed full support for HM the King’s directives to adopt development initiatives and to harness all potentials to meet the citizens’ expectations and bring about more national achievments. It also hailed HM the King’s assertion of the importance of consensus between the executive and the legislative branches in achieving more development and progress for the country and its people, and that consensus on subsidy restructuring should be given priority to ensure that government subsidies benefit the citizens who are affected by fee increase. The council also praised HM King Hamad’s directives to ensure that there will be no fee hike until the joint executive-legislative committee completes its work, and until the National Audit Office makes sure that the process is in line with the laws and criteria in force in the Kingdom.
