Premier’s keenness on GCC unity makes headlines

Manama, Jan. 31 (BNA): His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa’s call to safeguard the GCC march made headlines on Gulf and Arab newspapers and websites. Receiving the GCC ambassadors accredited to Bahrain, HRH the Premier described the Arabian Gulf council as a closely-knit family, hailing the pivotal Saudi role. Gulf and Arab newspapers and websites highlighted the statements made by HRH the Premier as he received the GCC ambassadors. They highlighted the Premier’s confidence in the wisdom of the GCC leaders as well as hope that the all differences would be settled within the Gulf framework. HRH the Premier hailed the pivotal role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in promoting goodness, stressing that its security and stability is integral to the security and stability of the GCC countries. He lauded the Saudi-led efforts and its enormous sacrifice to deter dangers and thwart conspiracies. "Experience has proved the GCC military capability to deter dangers and defeat enemies", he said in a statement which was highlighted by Saudi newspapers. Al-Riyadh, Makkah, Okaz, Al-Hayan and Al-Sharq Al-Awsat highlighted the Premier’s tribute to the crucial role played by Saudi Arabia in thwarting conspiracies and maintaining security and stability. Kuwaiti newspapers Al-rai posted a statement by Kuwaiti Ambassador to Bahrain Shaikh Azzam Al-Sabah who paid tribute to HRH the Premier for his statesmanship and crucial role. Alanba newspaper also highlighted the Premier’s call to maintain the GCC unity so as to withstand challenges. UAE newspaper Khaleej, Egypt’s Sada Al-Balad and other dailies and websites have also highlighted the Premier’s statements, stressing his call to preserve the GCC unity to stave off challenges.
