ASTRA INTERNASIONAL'S PROFIT UP 41 PCT
Jakarta, Feb 27 (ANTARA) - PT Astra Internasional, Indonesia's largest publicly-listed manufacturer, said on Friday its net profit in 2008 jumped 41 percent to Rp9,191 trillion from a year earlier, fueled by a significant rise in its income.
Income in 2009 rose 38 percent to Rp97.064 trillion from the year before, Astra Internasional President Director Michael D Ruslim said in a press statement.
Operating profit last year jumped 40 percent to Rp11.876 trillion from a year earlier, he said.
The increase in net profit raised earning per share to Rp2,270.
"Astra Group saw quite good performance in 2008 although the market slowed down in the last quarter," he said.
