Bahrain’s human rights strides highlighted

Manama, Feb.23 (BNA): National Institution of Human Rights (NIHR) Secretary-General Dr. Khalifa bin Ali Al-Fadhel received a US Senate delegation, currently on visit to Bahrain, and commended solid relations binding the two countries. Dr. Al-Fadhel briefed the delegation about the NIHR role in submitting recommendations and monitoring the situation of human rights in Bahrain. He underlined Bahrain’s positive strides to consolidate and protect human rights in the country. The US Senate delegation inquired about NIHR work procedures and duties. They toured NIHR sections and were briefed about the communication centre, the complaints office, the training facility and the library.
