Princess Sabeeka hails royal support for agriculture sector

Manama, Feb. 28 (BNA): HRH Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, wife of HM the King, President of Consultative Council of the National Initiative for Agricultural Development (NIAD), conveyed greetings and congratulations of HM King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to all those contributed to the success of Bahrain International Garden Show 2018 (BIGS). HRH Princess Sabeeka welcomed the royal support for the national efforts participated in the development of the agriculture sector. She said the development of the BIGS has positively reflected on the developmental path, in terms of promoting citizens’ prosperity, the increase of green spaces and improving the quality of food processing, in addition to the growth of related sectors, such as manufacturing of Irrigation equipment and fertilizers. HRH Princess Sabeeka extended thanks to national efforts contributed to the success of the show that has become a platform for enhancing Bahrain international agricultural standing, in addition to opening up new prospects for those interested in the agricultural field and environment development. She also thanked ministries, government and private institutions took part in the show or sponsored it. HRH Princess Sabeeka noted the increase of the number of local, regional and foreign participations, calling for exchanging expertise and visits to establish commercial partnerships to benefit the national economy. HRH Princess Sabeeka paid tribute to the efforts of the Information Affairs Ministry, media and press to highlight the event as an annual national one. HRH Princess Sabeeka honoured the winner of the second King Hamad Award for Agricultural Development that associate the BIGS, which aims to boost agricultural output, achieve relative food security, introduce modern agricultural technologies, encourage investments in agriculture, encourage entrepreneurship in small and medium-sized enterprises, promote agricultural research and creating a competitive environment to attract qualified Bahraini labour to contribute to the development and sustainability of this vita sector.
