HM King hails Bahrain’s sports achievements

Manama, Mar. 5 (BNA): His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa today received at Al-Sakhir Palace Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman, Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Chief and honorary president of Bahrain Mixed Martial Arts Association His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. HH Shaikh Khalid introduced to HM the King the chairman and members of the organizing committee and winners of the #Bahraini_Strongest_Man Championship, whose proceeds will go towards supporting cancer patients. HM the King congratulated HH Shaikh Khalid on ranking first in the light category of #Bahraini_Strongest_Man Championship, hailing his honorable victory which adds to his track record. He commended the efforts of HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad, hailing his humanitarian initiative to allocate the proceeds to support cancer patients. He lauded his drive to diversify sports, encourage young Bahrainis to take part and invest in their potential to further promote Bahrain’s standing in all arenas. He commended HM the King’s Representative for Charity Works and Youth Affairs, SCYS Chairman and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for supporting all sports in Bahrain. HM the King also congratulated East Riffa Club Chairman Captain Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al-Khalifa, winner of welter category, and Emad Hussein Al-Gaffas, winner of the heavyweight category. He commended the efforts of the organizing committee to ensure the development and success of the championship, stressing Bahrain’s strides in regional and international sports arenas. He commended strong-willed Bahraini youth for their determination to rank first, win championships and honour their country, wishing HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad and all sports people further success and landmark achievements. HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa presented to HM King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa a commemorative artwork depicting the #Bahraini_Strongest_Man Championship. In a statement on this occasion, HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad paid tribute to HM the King for receiving members of the organizing committee and winners of the #Bahraini_Strongest_Man Championship, hailing royal keenness on supporting sports people to achieve honorable results all arenas.
