King patronizes Arab – ISPCAN Regional Conference on Child

Riyadh, March 01, SPA -- Under the patronage of the Custodian of the
Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz, the National Family
Safety Program (NFSP) in collaboration with the International Society
for Prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect (ISPCAN), is organizing
later today "The 3rd Arab -ISPCAN Regional Conference on Child
Protection at King Faisal Convention Center- Riyadh Intercontinental
Hotel.

The conference carries a theme of "Child Protection in Arab
Countries: Working Together towards Safer Childhood".


The conference represents a unique opportunity for professionals in
different disciplines (health, social work, mental health, and law
enforcement, and education) working with children or in the field of
Child Abuse, Exploitation and Neglect prevention, to discuss violence
against children in Arab countries.

In addition, multidisciplinary and discipline-specific training
courses will be provided to participants by experienced instructors.


The organizing committee invited distinguished keynotes speakers from
around the world to present their experiences in various aspects and
topics related to child protection including traditional and new
forms of child abuse and exploitation, causes and consequences of
child abuse and neglect, prevention strategies, enhancing role and
capabilities of child protection, and other topics.


Moreover, multiple discussion forums and workshops will be
concurrently conducted. Children are participating in various
activities as they are the most concerned category.

Conference's keynote speakers include Prince Talal Bin Abdulaziz,
President of Arab Gulf Programme for United Nations Development
Organizations (AGFUND); Dr.Yousef Al Othaimeen, Minister of Social
Affairs; Dr .Hussein Jazayri, WHO Regional Director for the Eastern
Mediterranean (EMRO), Professor Paulo Sergio Pinheiro, Independent
Expert UN Secretary General Study on Violence Against Children.
