Northern Governor receives British ambassador

Northern Governor receives British ambassador 04 : 34 PM - 06/03/2018 Manama, Mar. 6 (BNA): Northern Governor Ali bin Al-Shaikh Abdul-Hussain Al-Asfoor received today British Ambassador to Bahrain Simon Martin. He lauded strong bilateral relations of more than 200 years and reviewed the governorate's programmes carried out within the framework of its initiative "We all are partners in peace". He also gave a brief account on programmes benefiting children and the youth.  The Northern Governor expressed appreciation of cooperation with citizens from across the governorate and the civil society institutions which, he said, have always played a key role in ensuring success of citizen-oriented joint programmes. He paid tribute to the leadership for their keenness on reaching out to citizens, cementing values of citizenship and engaging all members of the community in maintaining security and public order through attractive programmes fostering peaceful co-existence and tolerance. The British Ambassador lauded the governorate's programmes to promote co-existence and peace, develop the community and protect religious freedom. He wished the governorate and its competencies every success.
