Minister hails Bahrain's unique women empowerment experience

Manama, Mar. 8 (BNA): Housing Minister, Bassim bin Yaqoob Al-Hamar, has extended sincere congratulations to Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Wife of HM the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), on the International Women's Day (IWD), observed worldwide on March 8 so celebrate the social, economic, cultural and political achievement of women. The minister lauded the effective role played by women in societies’ development process, especially in Bahrain, whose women empowerment experience is unique at all levels, as women succeeded in reaching high posts in Bahrain, as well as at regional and international organisations. Women’s empowerment and equality with men in all work fields is the natural outcome of the awareness of the leadership and the government of the importance of ensuring women their right to education since many decades, which led to the existence of many Bahraini women competencies that are capable of holding all posts with outstanding success and efficiency. Al-Hamar highlighted the role played by the SCW to preserve women’s gains during His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s prosperous era in various fields, including housing. He pointed out that Bahraini women have benefitted from two categories out of five who are eligible to receive social housing services, in line with the keenness of the leadership and the government to put in place the requirements of social stability for women and men, alike.
