Bosworth due in Seoul this weekend
SEOUL, March 2 (Yonhap) -- Stephen Bosworth, the new U.S. point man on North
Korea, will arrive in South Korea this weekend in the last leg of his first Asian
tour since being assigned to the post, officials here said Monday.
"Ambassador Bosworth will make a trip to South Korea from March 7-10," a foreign
ministry official said.
Bosworth, formerly the U.S. ambassador to Seoul, plans to meet with Foreign
Minister Yu Myung-hwan, Unification Minister Hyun In-taek, and some officials at
the presidential office, he added.
The official said he has no information on whether Bosworth will also travel to
North Korea during his upcoming regional trip with other stops in China and
Japan.
South Korea has yet to name Bosworth's new counterpart after Kim Sook, Seoul's
former top nuclear envoy, was appointed as deputy director of the state
intelligence agency last week.
