NK-UNC talks on border tension reduction ends

SEOUL, March 2 (Yonhap) -- The first talks between North Korean and the U.S.-led United Nations Command (UNC) in nearly seven years ended in a few hours on Monday, a UNC spokesman said, but the results were not immediately available.

"I believe the meeting is over," spokesman Dave Palmer said. The talks began
around 10 a.m.
He said the UNC official who took part in the general-level meeting at the
inter-Korean truce village of Panmunjom has not returned to the office.
He said the UNC will release a statement if needed to brief the press on the
outcome.
