GARUDA, DAE CAPITAL SIGN B.737-800 NG LEASING AGREEMENT
Jakarta, March 2 (ANTARA) - National flag carrier Garuda Indonesia and Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE) Capital here on Monday signed an agreement on the leasing of B.737-800 NG airplanes.
"This cooperation will help us expand and develop our business potentials within the lager framework of regional airline business development," Garuda Indonesia President Director Emirsyah Satar said here on Monday.
He said the cooperation covered the sale and financing of eight new Boeing B.737-800 which would be delivered by Boeing in June and be leased on a long-term basis.
"These airplanes are special aircraft prepared for Garuda Indonesia with the latest technology, fuel efficiency and environment friendliness," he said.
He said that the cooperation was part of Garuda's efforts to expand its business, hoping that it would increase its cooperation in the future.
Garuda will also increase the number of its fleet of other airliner types. "Besides 50 B.737 NGs, Garuda Indonesia has also placed orders for 10 B.737-300 ERs which would be delivered in 1020," he said.
DAE Capital Chief Executive Officer Bob Genise said the cooperation in the form of operating lease was a flexible financing program which benefited airline companies.
Minister for State Enterprises Sofyan Jalil said the US$250 million worth cooperation was expected to help Garuda develop its business.***
