Bahrain attends meeting on Lebanese army

Rome, Mar.17 (BNA): Bahrain’s Ambassador to Germany Abdulla Abdullatif Abdulla participated in the Rome II Ministerial Meeting to support the Lebanese Armed Forces and the Internal Security Forces. The Ministerial Meeting, attended by the UN Secretary-General, António Guterres, the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and several officials from Arab, Islamic and Western countries, discussed the National Defense Strategy from 2018 to 2022 with the aim of strengthening Lebanon's institutions and extension of state authority throughout its territory. The Meeting affirmed the importance for the Lebanese Government to follow the policy of self-restraint and of supporting the Lebanese armed forces to enable them to carry out their duty to maintain the security, stability and independence of the Republic of Lebanon.
