MINISTER INSTALLS NEW MEMBERS OF TELECOM REGULATION COMMITTEE
Jakarta, March 2 (ANTARA) - Communication and Informatics Minister Mohammad Nuh installed new members of the Telecommunication Regulation Committee-Indonesian Telecommunication Regulation Body (KRT-BRTI) for the 2009-2011 period here on Monday.
The newly installed members are Basuki Yusuf Iskandar (currently the director general of post and telecommunication) as chairman and member of KRT-BRTI, Abdullah Alkaff (currently expert staff of the Communication and Informatics Ministry) as a member, Heru Sutadi as a member, Danrivanto Budhiyanto, as a member, Ridwan Effendi as a member, and Nonot Harsono, as a member.
Basuki Yusuf Iskandar and Abdullah Alkaff had held the same positions in KRT-BRTI for the 2006-2008 term of office.
The process selection of KRT-BRTI members from the public element was openly conducted on the website of the Post and Telecommunication Directorate General since October 2008.
The process of selection conducted by the Secretary General of the Communication and Informatics Ministry, emphasized professionalism, objectiveness, and transparency, Minister Nuh said.
The KRT-BRTI chairman and members are responsible, among other things, for monitoring and supervising general elections campaigns through telecommunication services, and the implementation of quality standard of telecommunication services.
They are also tasked to help settle telecommunication conflicts involving operators and other parties.***
