Economic cooperation with Asian countries supported

Manama, Mar. 18 (BNA): Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla has asserted that the the Council of Representatives gives great importance to economic cooperation with Japan and Asian countries. He noted that the issue is constantly discussed during regional and international parliamentary meetings, amid the extraordinary economic challenges currently witnessed by countries of the world, and given the importance of the role played by legislative councils and parliaments in facing those challenges for the sake of the country’s economy. Receiving here today Bahrain's former Ambassador to Japan, Dr. Khalil Hassan, the Speaker highlighted the need to activate parliamentary diplomacy to support the kingdom’s efforts, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, to develop economic and investment cooperation and increase trade exchange with brotherly and friendly countries. He affirmed that the kingdom boasts a distinguished legislative economic system. The speaker lauded the diplomatic role of Ambassador Dr. Khalil Hassan, praising his effective contributions to strengthening Bahraini-Japanese relations.
