NK-UNC talks on border tension reduction end

(ATTN: UPDATES throughout with results of the talks)
SEOUL, March 2 (Yonhap) -- The first talks between North Korean and the U.S.-led
United Nations Command (UNC) in nearly seven years ended in a few hours on Monday
without specific results, a defense source said.
"There is no special outcome," the source said, asking not to be named. "The two
sides had positive discussions on easing border tension and measures to build
mutual trust. But the two sides have not set a date for the next meeting."
The talks between two-star generals began at around 10 a.m. at the inter-Korean
truce village of Panmunjom inside the demilitarized zone.
The UNC said it will soon release a statement on the outcome of the meeting.
