Foreign minister reiterates Bahrain’s support for Palestinians

Manama, Mar. 22 (BNA): Minister of Foreign Affairs, Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, received in his office at the Ministry’s General Court today Chairman of Palestine's Higher Council for Youth and Sport, Major General Jibril Rajoub, currently visiting Bahrain. The minister welcomed Brigadier General Jibril Rajoub, praising the efforts exerted by President Mahmoud Abbas at the regional and international levels to achieve the rights of the Palestinian people and attain a just and comprehensive peace in the region. Shaikh Khalid reiterated Bahrain's firm position in support of the Palestinian cause and right of the Palestinian people to an independent Palestinian state on the June 4, 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as a capital, on the basis of the two-state solution, relevant international legitimacy resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative, wishing Rajoub every success. Major General Jibril Rajoub expressed Palestine's sincere appreciation of the Kingdom's support for the Palestinian cause and rights at all forums and at various levels, wishing Bahrain further progress and prosperity.
