Bahrain to host training session on International Humanitarian Law

Manama, Mar. 24 (BNA): A training session on “International Humanitarian Law”, organised by the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) -Kuwait Branch, will kick off here tomorrow.
Head of ICRC regional delegation, Yahya Alibi, and representatives of seven governmental and independent institutions will attend the three-day event.
BIPD’s Anwar Ahmed welcomed holding the session in Bahrain, noting that it is within the framework of cooperation between BIPD and ICRC Kuwait.
It also embodies Bahrain’s approach of consolidating regional and international cooperation and joint action to strengthen the pillars of global security and peace, he said.
Under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, has exerted tremendous efforts to enhance awareness on the International Humanitarian Law, being an essential part of its commitment to preserving and protecting human rights, citing the issuance of Royal Decree by HM the King to establish the National Committee for the International Humanitarian Law on May 15, 2014, he added.
