C JAVA'S EXPORTS IN NOVEMBER 2008 UP 8.88 PCT
Semarang, Mar 2 (ANTARA) - Central Java's exports in November 2008 reached 231.78 million US dollars, up by 8.88 percent from the October 2008 exports of 212.87 million US dollars.
"But compared to the exports in the same month of 2007, Central Java's exports in November 2008 dropped 28.44 percent," Head of the Central Bureau of Statistics of the province Indrarto Hadijanto said here on Monday.
Indrarto said textile products, various manufactured goods, wood and wooden products, are the main three main commodities with the highest export value in the January-November 2008 period.
The three export commodities are textile products 90.62 million US dollars, various manufactured goods 49.12 million US dollars, and wood and wodden products 33.78 million US dollars.
The main export destination is the United States which in November 2008 reached 53.14 million US dollars, up by 2.97 million US dollars compared to the exports in October 2008 reaching 50.34 million US dollars.
The November 2008 exports worth 608.51 million US dollars, dropped 2.42 percent from the October 2008 exports, but increased 21.12 percent compared to the November 2007 exports worth 502.42 million US dollars.
Indrarto said Central Java's biggest supper of imported goods is Saudi Arabia, which in November 2008 reached 203.03 million US dollars, up 74.53 million US dollars compared to the October 2008 imports worth 128.50 million US dollars.
Mineral water, textiles, and machinery are three commodities with the highest export value in the January-November 2008.
The imports of November 2008 consist of mineral water 439.36 million US dollars, textile products 59.90 million US dollars, and machinery 38.70 million US dollars.
