Bahrain-Russian relations discussed

Moscow, Mar.30 (BNA): Russian Deputy Foreign Minister and Special Presidential Envoy for the Middle East and North Africa Mikhail Bogdanov stressed the importance of strengthening relations between the Council of Representatives and the State Duma. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa and President Vladimir Putin for laying the foundations of bilateral relations binding the two countries. “The consolidation of parliamentary relations will further contribute to the development of economic, trade, investment and political cooperation”, he said. He made the statement as he held a meeting with Bahraini parliamentary delegation, currently on visit to Russia, and discussed key international issues. The delegation commended the Russian political stances in support of Arab and international issues. Head of the delegation, Council, Mp Ali Al-Aradi conveyed greetings from Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla, stressing the importance of the visit which aims at bolstering parliamentary diplomacy. Led by First Deputy Speaker Al-Aradi, the delegation also includes Mps Nasser Al-Qaseer and Mohammed Al-Jowder, members of the Russian-Bahraini Parliamentary Friendship Committee.
