Oil Minister to hold press conference

Manama, Apr. 3 (BNA): The Minister of oil Shaikh Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Khalifa will tomorrow lead a press conference at the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) Club in Awali area at 2 pm to provide additional details on the largest discovery of oil and gas in the Kingdom’s history. The discovery follows a recent uplift in oil and gas exploration projects undertaken in response to a directive to increase exploration activities from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa to the Higher Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security, led by HRH the Crown Prince. The conference will feature detailed information on the discovery, including initial findings of size and extraction viability, impact forecasting and timeframes, and the outlining of main partner opportunities for future activities.  The Manager of Exploration at the Bahrain Petroleum Company (BAPCO), Yahya Al-Ansari, and a representative from Haliburton, one of the world's largest oil field service companies, will also participate in the conference.
