THREE PROTEST RALLIES TO HIT JAKARTA
Jakarta, March 3 (ANTARA) - Three groups of protesters will stage peaceful rallies simultaneously at the same time on Tuesday at several points in Jakarta with the potential of causing traffic jam along a number of main roads in the capital city.
The Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center (TMC) informed that the three rallies would start at about 10 in the morning.
According to TMC, the first rally would be staged in front of Manpower and Transmigration Ministry office on Gatot Subroto street in South Jakarta.
At the same time, the second demonstration would be staged in front of Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) building on HR Rasuna Said street, South Jakarta, while the third would be at Presidential Palace at Medan Merdeka Utara street in Central Jakarta.
However, the Jakarta Police's Traffic Management Center did not name the groups and the number of protesters in each group.
TMC said the rallies would cause traffic jam which was predicted to be worsened by the malfunctioning of several traffic lights at several locations.
Data from TMC indicated that at least 16 traffic lights in North Jakarta, South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta and West Jakarta were not working properly.***
