PRESIDENT TO INSPECT CPI CONSTRUCTION SITE IN MAKASSAR
Makassar, Indonesia, March 3 (ANTARA) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono is slated to inspect the construction site of the Center Point of Indonesia (CPI) in Makassar, South Sulawesi, on March 12, 2009, an official involved in the project said.
Yushar Huduri, head of the CPI project committee, said here Tuesdaya he would make every possible effort to get the construction permit issued before March 12, or at the latest two days before President Yudhoyono inspected the project.
"Various licenses and recommendations must be made ready by March 10, 2009," Yushar said, adding that mature plan should be made by involving all related aspects before the laying of the project's first corner stone.
He said the cost of land clearing for the project and unclear ownership of the land were part of the problem in the development of the mega project.
"We still have a lot of things to prepare before the laying of the CPI project's first corner stone," Yushar said.
South Sulawesi Governor Syahrul Yasin Limpo said here recently that the CPI project would start in August this year and therefore the provincial administration had allocated Rp10.6 billion to pay for the needed land clearance and for the administration of documents.
The governor said the mega project which was expected to be a land mark in South Sulawesi would start with the preparation of several supporting documents such as Environmental Impact Analysis (Amdal), feasibility study, and master plan.***
