NIHR receives think tank delegation

Manama, Apr. 10 (BNA): Maria Khoury, President of the National Institution for Human Rights (NIHR), has received a delegation from the Washington-based The Heritage Foundation. Khoury reviewed the Kingdom’s progressive human rights record as well as the close cooperation with all the relevant institutions. She affirmed the NIHR continuous efforts to consolidate its relations with civil society organisations for boosting human rights protection in Bahrain. She also reviewed the National Institution’s role and its mechanisms of boosting the protection of human rights as well as statistics of complaints received from individuals who appeared in person, the toll free hotline: 80001144 or NIHR Bahrain app. The delegation praised the efforts exerted in receiving complaints, requests for help, training and essential awareness about human rights principles.
