Minister receives International Fire Operations Conference participants

Manama, Apr. 11 (BNA): Interior Minister Lieutenant-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received here today the participants of the International Fire Operations Conference in the Middle East. The event is being held in Bahrain from April 10 to 12 and organised by the International Association of Fire Chiefs (IAFC) in cooperation with Saudi Oil Company (Aramco). The minister welcomed Bader bin Fahd Al Qadran, Executive Director of Safety and Industrial Safety at Aramco and President of the Conference. He presented the representatives of Aramco, IAFC and American Society of Safety Engineers. The minister asserted the importance of the conference and its topics, as it represents an opportunity to exchange expertise and experiences and learn about the latest safety technologies, especially for oil sites. He said that Bahrain works to encourage such events, citing that general safety is an essential part of security and achieving it is a joint responsibility between official organisations and NGOs. He expressed thanks and appreciation to the organisers of the conference and its exhibition, hailing their decision to choose Bahrain to host the event.  Al Qadran highlighted that the conference was the first one to be held outside the US, hailing safety and security in Bahrain. On behalf of the Interior Minister, the Chief of Public Security, Major-General Tariq Al Hassan inaugurated the event.
